- Welcome to all that enter. For newer work please go to the bottom of this site . The images represented are all made with mixed media mostly pastel, charcoal, oil, printer's ink on paper, canvas and reclaimed wood. I use a printing press occasionally. I enjoy mixing mediums and materials following the itch in my hands as my artist's mind takes over.

My name is Penelope Douglas.I am an artist who also has a career in social enterprise and investment.Throughout my early artist life I was passionately focused on the human figure and worked almost exclusively in black and white. When I was about 35, I met a painter with whom I worked for a few years, and during that time I fell for oils, and worked mostly on images that reflected the landscape around me.More recently, I have been deeply interested in printmaking and in mixing lots of media together. What I don't have in printmaking is an affinity for precision, and this shows in my work.I am also inevitably drawn to making stuff, and have tried to make giant puppets out of driftwood. I hope to do more giant work.
